In a recent interview with ComingSoon, ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ star Kathryn Newton hinted at a potential shift toward a music career following her singing debut in the film.
During the conversation, Newton shared her thoughts about the experience of performing REO Speedwagon’s ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling’ for the movie. Despite her unfamiliarity with the song, Newton embraced the challenge, and it appears her neighbors at the hotel also had their share of it:
“Well, let’s just say my hotel room got some really good performances outta me that nobody saw [laugh]. I did practice that song. I’m sorry to my neighbors at the hotel.”
She then continued, revealing that her performance gave her thoughts of a musical venture:
“Well, it was exciting. I didn’t know that song. I know another REO Speedwagon song, so I had to learn it. And Universal Music set me up in the booth. We recorded it. I was feeling like I should start a band. What do you think?”
Newton considered music a potential career path after her singing performance in ‘Lisa Frankenstein.’ The experience was nerve-wracking for the actress, who also mentioned her previous singing role in ‘Ben Is Back.’ However, her co-star Cole Sprouse agrees that she should follow her intuition about forming a band.

Newton Received an Advice From Paul Rudd Before The Movie
In another interview, Newton shared valuable advice she received from Paul Rudd, her co-star in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Rudd’s guidance influenced Newton’s decision to take on the role in ‘Lisa Frankenstein.’ According to Newton, Rudd suggested:
“If you think that no one else can play a role except you, and you can do your best to elevate a character or a story, you should do it.”
After Rudd’s advice, Newton realized the role was a unique opportunity she was eager to explore.
Is ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ Worth Watching?
‘Lisa Frankenstein‘ hit theaters in the United States on February 9, 2024. The film is Zelda Williams’ directorial debut and will premiere in the UK on March 1, 2024.
