Tom Hiddleston Is Not Sure There Should Be ‘Loki’ Season 3

The actor is happy with how the story wrapped up.

Tom Hiddleston sat down for a new interview with Variety ahead of the Miami Film Festival. He talked about the ‘Loki’ Season 2 finale and shared his thoughts about a possible comeback:

“I truthfully don’t know. I am so proud of where we landed in Season 2. To go from this lost, broken soul in Asgaard, and be given a second chance and learn so much about life that he actually gives himself to protect other people, has been such an honor.”

Loki chose to sacrifice himself for his friends’ safety and took over the Multiverse’s control in the series’ ending. Now, he is referred to as the ‘God of Stories’ by fans and the Marvel team.

The God Of Mischief’s Final Lines

Loki’s final words in the series echoed his very first lines in the MCU and showed the growth he went through over the last decade. Hiddleston commented on the story’s ending in a chat with Vanity Fair in late March:

“Loki’s last line in ‘Thor,’ directed by Kenneth Branagh, is, ‘I could have done it, Father. I could have done it for you, for all of us.’ And of course, his effort to gain his father’s pride has been misguided and ill thought-out.”

He continued:

“And then at the end of ‘Loki’ Season 2, 14 years later, he turns to Mobius and Sylvie and says, ‘I know what I want. I know what kind of god I need to be. For you. For all of us.’ It felt very resonant somehow. I hope the audience picked up on that.”

The Possibility Of Season 3

The ‘Loki’ finale left the fate of Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer up in the air. The show only showed Renslayer in the Void for a brief moment. It also didn’t delve into Sylvie’s path after Loki’s sacrifice.

There will not be a Season 3 to explore the open-ended stories. But ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ may bring the ‘Loki’ characters back since it will follow the show’s events.

The new ‘Avengers’ project will focus on the Multiversal War the Disney+ series introduced. The Marvel heroes will reunite to stop the Council of Kangs that first appeared in ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.’
