Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey returned as a villain and died in the Fox franchise’s third movie. Still, she made cameo appearances in ‘The Wolverine’ and ‘Days of Future Past.’
Rumors said the actress would come back again in the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ but she denied them in a recent chat with Screen Geek:
“I’m not in [‘Deadpool & Wolverine’]. No. Everybody keeps asking. So, at some point, I was like, ‘Wait, am I in ‘Deadpool,’ and I just don’t know it yet?’ But, no. I’m not. No, no.”
Janssen is working on another project instead:
“I’m about to embark on a huge Netflix project. And we’re shooting it in Amsterdam for six months. It’s called ‘Amsterdam Empire.’ In my own language, for the first time, Dutch. I’ve never acted in my language before. I left when I was 17 and didn’t start acting until I came to the States.”
What About The Other Mutants?
Currently, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Aaron Stanford’s Pyro, and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra are the only original X-Men members confirmed to return in Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’
The upcoming film will focus on a multiversal journey to save the Sacred Timeline, so fans believe we may see other mutants as well.
Cyclops actor James Marsden addressed the rumors about his possible comeback in a chat with ‘The Playlist Podcast’:
“I keep hearing about that; I can’t walk down the street without someone asking me. So, evidently, there’s a lot of chatter about that. We were near the ‘Deadpool’ stages up there in Pinewood actually [while shooting ‘Sonic 3’]. Yeah, this is a little bit of a Pandora’s box.”
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
