Tom Hiddleston Sets The Record Strait: Loki Is Not A Villain

He believes the God of Mischief was just ‘misguided.’

Tom Hiddleston said he didn’t think of Loki as a villain in a recent chat on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ Kimmel then brought up some of the God of Mischief’s questionable moves and asked the actor whether the idea ever crossed his mind. Hiddleston explained:

“I’m aware that he’s made some interesting choices, which could be accumulated into a picture that looks like he’s a villain. And once upon a time, he was making some misguided choices. You know, trying to take over New York and the Avengers having to assemble to stop him. That was a bad day.”

The host also mentioned Loki’s repeated betrayal of Thor. So, he continued:

“Yes. Reeling his brother in and then betraying him immediately. All bad choices, but I like to think that, you know, 14 years later, he’s making some slightly more generous, loving, and heroic choices.”

Loki’s Heroic Ending

Loki found himself at the center of the MCU’s timeline in ‘Loki’ Season 2 finale after deciding to make a sacrifice to save his friends and the Multiverse. Hiddleston previously shared happiness over how things wrapped up for the now God of Stories.

The actor reflected on the ending in an interview with Variety a week ago. He spoke of possibly returning for a third season and said:

“I am so proud of where we landed in Season 2. To go from this lost, broken soul in Asgaard, and be given a second chance and learn so much about life that he actually gives himself to protect other people, has been such an honor.”

‘Loki’ is not likely to come back for a new season. But Hiddleston’s Asgardian god can make a cameo in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The upcoming Marvel film will focus on a multiversal adventure.
