Rumor: ‘Snow White’ Remake Won’t Have Key Elements Of The Story, Including Dwarfs

The film will see Snow White as a more independent character who leads a rebellion against the Evil Queen.

‘Snow White’ is getting a fresh makeover in Disney’s upcoming live-action film, but not everything will be as you remember it.

Rumors suggest that Rachel Zegler’s Snow White will be more of a leader this time. As SFFGazette reports, she’s expected to stand up and fight against the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot).

Fans were worried that the Seven Dwarfs were cut from the movie after photos showed regular-sized actors on set. Insiders now assure that they are still part of the story, but they won’t be called ‘Dwarfs’ in the new movie. These actors are instead playing a group of bandits led by a new character named Jonathan.

Jonathan takes the place of the traditional prince, and there’s talk about changing up the poisoned apple part of the story. Details are still under wraps.

Some Details Remain The Same

Rachel Zegler shared last year that she got to sing ‘Whistle While You Work,’ and this made her very excited. She also admitted it’s hard working with a lot of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and puppetry, especially when performing scenes meant to interact with them:

“We were able to do ‘Whistle While You Work,’ which made me really happy and excited. I was really nervous more about the technical element. That first-look image went out… and there’s a lot of CGI in the film.”

Some sources say early showings of the movie went really well. Others, however, argue that it received poor feedback and is a bit of a mess.

Marc Webb aims to bring something new while respecting the classic story. The movie will feature original music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who worked on ‘La La Land’ and ‘The Greatest Showman.’

‘Snow White’ will be released next March.
