Captain America Has A New Love Interest, Set Photos Reveal

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will introduce Leila Taylor (Xosha Roquemore) as Sam Wilson’s (Anthony Mackie) romantic partner.

Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers had a well-known love story with Peggy Carter. Sam Wilson didn’t have a romantic storyline in the MCU — until now.

As per the Direct, Marvel Studios recently released a set photo showing director Julius Onah, Anthony Mackie, and Xosha Roquemore together. Roquemore will star in ‘Brave New World’ as Leila Taylor. She is an important love interest for Sam Wilson from the comics.

This is the first time Leila Taylor will appear in the MCU. She first appeared in 1971’s ‘Captain America #139.’ She was one of the first people to know that Sam Wilson was actually The Falcon before he became Captain America.

The Film Will Explore Sam’s Personal Life

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ aims to focus more on Wilson’s personal life. It will build on what fans saw in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ series. Of course, we will also see Wilson facing off against The Leader and Red Hulk.

Leila Taylor will help us see more of Sam Wilson’s life outside of being a superhero. It’s also possible that Misty Knight, Sam’s other romantic interest from the comics, could appear in future MCU projects. Misty Knight was played by Simone Missick in Netflix’s ‘Luke Cage,’ ‘Iron Fist,’ and ‘The Defenders.’

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. It will be the fourth film featuring Captain America and the first to star Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the new Cap.
