Netflix’s ‘Tomb Raider’ Animated Series Gets A New Update

Netflix revealed new details and a release date for its upcoming show.

‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’ will come out later this year. Hayley Atwell will voice Lara Croft in the animated show, with Allen Maldonado joining as Zip.

Earl Baylon will reprise his role as Jonah Maiava from the video games, and the series will see release on October 10, 2024.

What Is The New Show About?

‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’ picks up from where the ‘Survivor’ game trilogy leaves and takes place in the same universe. The plot synopsis reads:

“Following the events of the ‘Survivor’ series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.”

Tasha Huo serves as the showrunner.

There’s Another ‘Tomb Raider’ Media In The Works

Amazon is also working on a new ‘Tomb Raider’ project. The studio recently hired Phoebe Waller-Bridge to write a new live-action show based on the video games. Waller-Bridge joined Ryan Andolina and Amanda Greenblatt as the showrunner and an executive producer.

The cast and release date for the new Amazon series is yet to be revealed.
