Ant-Man’s Evangeline Lilly Decides to Retire Even Though It’s ‘Scary’

She posted a video on Instagram, saying she feels happy and fulfilled with her decision.

Evangeline Lilly decided to retire from acting.

Lilly made the announcement on Instagram. She shared a clip of herself from 2006 along with the post. In the video, Lilly talked about her career goals, which she believes she has now achieved. Lilly wrote that stepping away from the obvious choices of wealth and fame can be scary, but it brought her a sense of fulfillment:

“I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings. Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, and I am ready…and I am happy.”

It appears the actress is excited about this new chapter in her life.

She Rose To Fame With Lost

Lilly starred in the popular TV show ‘LOST’ before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She starred as Hope Van Dyne (The Wasp) in the Marvel movies.

‘The Wasp’ fans may be sad about this news, but Lilly’s 11-year-old son may be the saddest. He recently started to appreciate his mom being a ‘Veteran Avenger.’ Lilly shared a story on Good Morning America about how her son changed his opinion over the years:

“My 11-year-old son is in middle school, Marvel is currency in middle school. He likes to flex on his friends, ‘I know what’s going on. My mom is the Wasp. No big deal.’.. But, they’ve come around because when I first became an Avenger, he was like, ‘Mom, why do you have to be the worst Avenger? Why couldn’t you be Iron Man or someone cool like that?’ But, now that I’ve graduated to becoming a senior Avenger, he’s like, ‘Mom. You’re cool now.'”

Although she is retiring now, Lilly did not rule out the possibility of returning to acting in the future.
