Jon Hamm recently revealed in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter that he previously turned down a part in ‘Green Lantern.’ He then mentioned some roles he wanted in the MCU:
“But I’ve pitched myself for a couple parts of the Marvel universe, I don’t want to say what exactly, but it was a part of a comic book that I really liked. I was like, ‘Are you going to do this story?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, we’re actually thinking of that.’ I go, ‘Good. I should be the guy.’ So maybe it’ll work out.”
The ‘Mad Men’ actor is now working on a new appearance as Sentinel Prime in ‘Transformers One.’
The Actor Wants To Be In ‘X-Men’ Or ‘Fantastic Four’
Hamm came close to playing Mister Sinister in a sequel to ‘The New Mutants’ in past years, but the studio later scrapped the idea. He still has an interest in roles in future X-Men and Fantastic Four projects. The actor told Screen Rant last year:
“Those decisions get made at such a high level at this point, definitely above my pay grade. I would love to. I’ve been a fan of Marvel Comics and comics in general since I was probably single digits. I think there are tons of stories that I’m familiar with, at least, that are still out there to be told.”
He added:
“Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they include me. But if not, I know that they have a pretty deep bench of folks that are ready to be a part of those stories. There are certainly a lot of stories in the X-Men world to be told. Fantastic Four as well, [like] Doctor Doom. There are so many great things out there. But yeah, I hope I get a chance. Who knows?”
Marvel Has New Projects In The Works
Disney got the rights to the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ franchises back in 2019. The company brought the mutant team back in a revival of ‘X-Men: The Animated Show’ earlier this year.
‘X-Men ‘97’ already started production for Season 2 and Season 3. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios announced a ‘Fantastic Four’ film set in the MCU.
The film will come out on July 25, 2025. The cast will include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ralph Ineson, and Julia Garner.
