Rumor: Ryan Gosling May Finally Play Ghost Rider In MCU

Gosling has been linked to this role for a while, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Rumors are flying around that Ryan Gosling may get the chance to play Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Gosling has been very popular in Hollywood lately, especially after his role as Ken in last summer’s Barbie movie. As per the Direct, the rumors started because of a tweet from a scooper on X:

“Ryan Gosling will portray Ghost Rider in the MCU.”

Another insider also wrote that Johnny Blaze will be the main character in a new Ghost Rider film:

“Johnny Blaze will make his debut in ‘Ghost Rider & The Midnight Sons’ film, he will also be the lead of the project. Played by a very popular actor.”

Gosling is Beyond Eager For The Role

In a 2022 interview, Ryan Gosling said that if he could play any Marvel character, he would choose Ghost Rider. This might be why these rumors are popping up now. Kevin Feige also opened the doors for him. You can read his reaction here.

Gosling was rumored for other Marvel roles before. Some thought he may play Sentry in the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts*’ movie, but that role will be played by Lewis Pullman. He was also rumored for roles in the ‘Fantastic Four’ as Reed Richards or Johnny Storm.

There is no official announcement from Marvel about any Ghost Rider movie, TV show, or special. The Marvel Updates account on X said that Gosling wasn’t officially cast as Ghost Rider and that any real news would come straight from Marvel. So far, Marvel has not said anything about it.
