A new rumor from scooper ‘MyTimeToShineH’ on X claims that Lucasfilm is eyeing Sydney Sweeney for a Jedi role in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
The ‘Euphoria’ actress might appear in one of the upcoming theatrical releases since the Daisy Ridley-led sequel of the sequels, Dave Filoni’s crossover event, James Mangold’s story of the First Jedi, and the upcoming ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ movie are among those in development.
There are whispers that the ‘Euphoria’ actress might play Mara Jade, Luke Skywalker’s wife from the Expanded Universe, in a possible live-action adaptation.
The Actress’s Possible Return As A Superhero
The scooper also says Sydney Sweeney is considered for other superhero roles, potentially as the long-rumored Blonde Phantom or the Black Cat in ‘Spider-Man 4.’
Sweeney debuted as a superhero in ‘Madame Web’ earlier this year. Although the movie did not do well in sales and reviews, she described her role as a ‘building block’ in her career:
“Well, I want to point out the timeline of projects and explain a few things… ‘Madame Web’ was my first ever studio project that I ever got cast in. I am so thankful to Sony because it was such a building block for me. While I was filming that, I was actually building the packages for ‘Immaculate’ and ‘Anyone But You.’”
The ‘Madame Web’ actress is currently confirmed to star in the upcoming ‘Barbarella’ remake.
