‘Bridgerton’s casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry has been receiving a surprising number of unsolicited audition tapes from fans.
Hendry recently revealed this on the ‘Should I Delete That?‘ podcast and said that her email inbox is almost always 90% full of these videos:
“It’s every day … I get the most unbelievable videos, unsolicited. It’s sex basically. It’s not actual sex but it’s quite punchy. It’s not nude pictures, but not far off.”
The tapes are from fans who want to be part of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4. Many of these videos are very suggestive, but not that explicit. Hendry noted that it’s almost a daily occurrence to receive these kinds of videos.
Many of Them Want To Be Sophie Beckett
Beckett is a character from the ‘Bridgerton’ books who is romantically linked to Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson on the show. One fan even sent in a tape wearing a period costume so large it needed to hang off scaffolding.
Hendry admits she is sad and confused over this situation:
“It’s a bit sad, really, I don’t understand it.”
‘Bridgerton’ is known for its steamy scenes, so it isn’t too surprising that some believe sending such tapes might help them land a role.
