Sharon Stone joined the cast of ‘Nobody 2.’ The movie continues the story from the 2021 film ‘Nobody.’ Bob Odenkirk plays a calm ex-assassin who must protect his family when his past returns.
The first movie was a hit, with Odenkirk’s performance getting high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, leading to the sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stone will play the main villain in ‘Nobody 2.’
No other details about her character or the plot are known. Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell/’Nobody.’ The sequel’s script is written by Derek Kolstad, Odenkirk, Aaron Rabin, and Umair Aleem, and will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto.
What Did Producer And Director Say About The Upcoming Film?
The first film’s success makes ‘Nobody 2’ highly anticipated. Odenkirk proved he can be an action hero, just like he was great as Saul Goodman. Casting Stone as the villain means Hutch will face a strong opponent. Her presence will add to the challenge as Hutch tries to protect his family from new threats.
The sequel was announced earlier this year, three years after the first movie. Producer Kelly McCormick told Collider:
“We are planning on returns to those universes. Hopefully, honestly, even potentially end of this year for ‘Nobody 2’ and, beginning of next year for ‘Violent Night 2,’ if we can find time in everybody’s busy schedules. But the development’s going super well and everybody’s really, really excited about moving those worlds forward.”
Director Ilya Naishuller also previously mentioned possible plans for a franchise:
“I think the character has more films in him. In today’s day and age, there isn’t a single film being done by a studio where they’re not talking about potentially having a franchise. That’s just the way the business is. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. We did discuss what would happen if there were – if there’s demand for more. There’s definitely things we could do that would be exciting to follow up the story.”
Universal will release ‘Nobody 2’ in theaters on August 15, 2025. The first movie was made for $16 million and released during the pandemic, earning over $57.5 million worldwide.
