James Gunn Announces New Trailer For ‘Creature Commandos’

The show follows a group of human-monster hybrids take on government missions.

James Gunn unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming animated series ‘Creature Commandos’ yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

Gunn’s ‘Creature Commandos’ is part of the new DC Universe created by him and Peter Safran. The series will be the first project in their revamped DCU. During the Jim Lee & Friends panel at SDCC, Gunn shared that he wrote all seven episodes of the series, and it is currently in production:

“‘Creature Commandos’ is based on the great team from DC. What we’re doing with the DCU is, we are having animation tied directly into live action. Television, movies, and games all intertwine within the same universe. We’re going to cast actors who are going to be able to play the characters in this as well as in other things, some of which we’ve already cast. I’ve written all seven episodes of the show, and it’s in production. So that’s the first thing, and I love it.”

Gunn also shared a teaser for the show on Twitter, which you can watch below.

The Cast Will Be the Same In the Live-Action Adaptation

‘Creature Commandos’ features a team of human-monster hybrids carrying out military missions for the government. The characters include Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour), Bride of Frankenstein (Indira Varma), Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo), Dr. Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao), Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), G.I. Robot, and Weasel, both played by Sean Gunn.

Other cast members are Anya Chalotra as Circe, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Steve Agee as John Economos.

‘Creature Commandos’ cast will reprise their roles in live-action. It’s confirmed they will appear in Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ movie set for release in summer 2025. Frank Grillo will also return as Rick Flag Sr. in the second season of ‘Peacemaker.’

‘Creature Commandos’ will be available exclusively on Max this December.
