Chris Evans Reflects On His MCU Return As The Captain

He made a secret cameo as Johnny Storm in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’

Chris Evans recently revealed if he can return as Captain America.

We were wondering if Evans would pick up the shield again after his departure in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ It appears he’s hesitant about returning anytime soon. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he revealed if he ever thinks about bringing Captain America back:

“No, no not really.”

Instead, he’s been focusing on supporting Anthony Mackie. Evans says they keep in touch, and he’s excited for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’:

“I keep in touch with all those guys. We text all the time. I can’t wait to see that movie.”

He Has a Cameo In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Evans isn’t planning to return as Captain America, but he did make a surprise appearance in the latest Marvel movie ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ as Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm.

Evans says he is very proud of his role as the Cap. He previously said he wouldn’t want to return if it felt like a cash grab or didn’t live up to expectations. He values the positive experience he had and doesn’t want to tarnish it:

“I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience. But I’m also very precious with it. It’s something that I am very proud of. And like I said, sometimes I can’t believe it even happened. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing. So, no time soon.”

Evans also shared that he hopes to act less in the future and focus on other interests. He feels content with his career and achievements.

This week has been busy for Evans. He attended Kevin Feige’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and surprised fans at San Diego Comic-Con during Marvel’s Hall H panel for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently in theaters.
