Jamie Lee Curtis Apologizes For Mocking MCU, Ryan Reynolds Responds

The actress announced the end of her playful competition with Marvel Studios.

Jamie Lee Curtis recently described the current MCU phase as ‘bad’ during a rapid-fire game with MTV. She later went on social media to apologize for the remark, and Ryan Reynolds showed her support. Her post on X read:

“My comments about Marvel were stupid, and I will do better. I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mudslinging sandbox of competition we call the internet; nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or gameplay that is designed for clicks not content or conversation.”

Curtis’ Apology Confused Reynolds (Spoilers)

Marvel made a comeback from superhero fatigue with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ as it reached around $600 million at the box office since its release on July 26. The film featured several scenes mocking the studio itself through Reynolds’ Deadpool. He welcomed Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to the MCU by saying he was ‘joining at a bit of a low point’ in one scene, for example.

So, Reynolds commented under Curtis’ apology:

“Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?”

The Rivalry Between Curtis And Marvel

Jamie Lee Curtis and Marvel’s light-hearted competition started in 2022 after the actress compared ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ to its box office rival ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ on social media. She jokingly wrote that her film was the better multiverse story.

Curtis later made it clear that her comments were meant in fun and noted that she would consider joining the MCU for an interesting role. She also joked about not wanting to wear motion capture dots for filming, though.
