Jamie Lee Curtis Says It’s ‘Daunting’ To Be Named A Disney Legend At D23

The actress is ‘nervous’ about being one of the 2024 honorees.

Jamie Lee Curtis spoke about being named a 2024 honoree at D23’s upcoming Disney Legends Awards Ceremony during the red-carpet premiere of her new film, ‘Borderlands.’

“I’m a little nervous about it,” the actress told The Hollywood Reporter. “That, to me, is a little more daunting. It’s one thing to be nominated for something. You get to go and be like, ‘I’m never gonna win,’ and then maybe you win it sometimes, you don’t sometimes, and it’s the fun of being in the community of artists. This is like, ‘You’re coming, and we are talking about you,’ and that makes me nervous.”

Visa-presented D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will wrap up this Sunday (August 11) with its 37th awards ceremony. It will also celebrate Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rhode, and John Williams.

CEO Bob Iger said these fourteen people each “made extraordinary creative contributions across the worlds of Disney” to be honored. Jamie Lee Curtis first worked with Disney in the 2003 remake of ‘Freaky Friday’ as Tess Coleman and returned to star as Madame Leota in ‘Haunted Mansion’ in 2023.
