Ritu Arya Reacts To Lila’s Unexpected Romance In ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 4

‘The Umbrella Academy’ wrapped up after four seasons and Ritu Arya comments on it. (Spoilers!)

In episode five of ‘The Umbrella Academy’s fourth season, Lila and Five spend six years trying to return to their timeline but eventually decide to take a break and live together. During this time, they grow closer romantically.

Ritu Arya, who plays Lila, was surprised by this storyline. “I really was quite shocked when I read it,” Arya told People in a recent interview.

She also mentioned that filming was really complicated because she and Aidan Gallagher worked on most of the finale before even watching the first episode.

The actress continued, “It was really fun getting to have this little bubble of a story separate from everything, from the real world. It was like delirious. We were on night shoots, and we’re in the subway. I had a lot of fun with Aidan. It was then weird coming out of it. You sort of get immersed into the world.”

Lila and Five’s relationship ends quickly when Five finds a notebook with coordinates to return home. Lila immediately decides to go back to her children, and Five reluctantly follows. When they return, Diego wants to get back with Lila but discovers her romance with Five. However, Lila’s main focus remains on her children.

Justin H. Min told Collider in April that fans’ questions would be answered in the last season, explaining, “In terms of what to expect, I’ll probably be killed if I say something. But I think I can tease. There are a lot of questions that have been brewing throughout the seasons of the show, and I do think they really do get answered in this final season. I think there’s a real sense of closure, so I’m excited for the fans who’ve been waiting for certain answers to get those.”

The fourth season of the show arrived on Netflix on August 8.
