Barry Keoghan talked to Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival about his latest film, ‘Bring Them Down.’ The outlet also questioned him about possibly reprising his role as the Joker in Matt Reeves’ upcoming ‘The Batman — Part II’ during the chat.
The actor didn’t share much about the topic due to the project’s secrecy but left the door open for his return by saying, “We’ll see where that goes.”
Meanwhile, Reeves shared the first official plot details for ‘The Batman — Part II’ during a recent interview with SFX Magazine.
“We’ve shared [the script] as we’ve been going along with DC, and they’re super excited,” he said. “It’s going to dig into the epic story about deeper corruption and it goes into places [Bruce Wayne] couldn’t even anticipate in the first one.”
Keoghan’s Joker appeared briefly in a scene at the end of 2021’s ‘The Batman,’ where he spoke to The Riddler (Paul Dano) as another Arkham prisoner. Reeves later released a deleted scene of the character talking to Robert Pattinson’s Batman though he cast doubt over his return in the sequel.
Filming for ‘The Batman – Part II’ will begin in April 2025 in Leavesden, England, with the movie slated for release on October 2, 2026.
