Three familiar faces from the original show are set to return in a new ‘The Big Bang Theory’ spinoff.
According to a report from Variety, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman will be reprising their roles in the still-untitled series. The show hasn’t been officially given the green light, but these three actors are currently under talent-holding deals. The show’s co-creator Chuck Lorre is expected to be the executive producer if the series moves forward.
Kevin Sussman will return as Stuart Bloom. You may remember Stuart’s journey from running the store to becoming closely involved with the other main characters. Lauren Lapkus played Stuart’s love interest Denise, and she’ll also be back. Denise was the assistant manager of Stuart’s store, and their relationship became a key part of their storylines in the final seasons. Brian Posehn, known for his role as Bert Kibbler, the geologist with a crush on Amy, will also be returning.
Stuart and Denise moved in together and fell in love in the original series, so their relationship will likely be a key part of the spinoff’s story. Bert Kibbler could also continue his attempts to find love.
The spinoff would be the fourth series in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ universe. The original show aired for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019. ‘Young Sheldon’ was launched as a prequel after its success. It ran for seven seasons and ended earlier this year. Another spinoff named ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ is set to debut later this month. If the new spinoff is approved, it will be the first to pick up where the original series left off rather than exploring the past.
