Jim Parsons Reflects On Sheldon’s Return In ‘Big Bang Theory’ Spinoff

It seems he’s uncertain about reprising the character.

Jim Parsons shared his thoughts on possibly returning to the Sheldon Cooper role in a new ‘The Big Bang Theory’ spinoff.

During an interview on Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?, Parson said he wasn’t interested in returning to the character right now. He still added, “I would never say never to anything, because life just changes so much.”

He then admitted that it’s hard to recreate the special feeling of the original show, saying,”They call it lightning in a bottle for a reason, and you can be certain it wouldn’t be that. And so why would we be doing it? I don’t know… that’s how I feel on that right now. But like I say, God willing, life is very long.”

The upcoming spinoff is still in development and not officially confirmed, but it has Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, and Lauren Lapkus attached. This will be the first spinoff set after ‘The Big Bang Theory’ ended. Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Simon Helberg (Howard), and Mayim Bialik (Amy) may be considered for returns, but Johnny Galecki (Leonard) likely won’t as he retired from acting in 2019.

Parsons moved on to other projects. He is currently involved in the upcoming comedy ‘Just by Looking at Him,’ and he’s also appeared in ‘Spoiler Alert,’ ‘The Boys in the Band,’ and ‘Hollywood.’
