Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV Series Finds Its Lara Croft In ‘Game Of Thrones’

Sophie Turner will be the Croft of ‘Tomb Raider,’ which is described as epic and a world tour.

Sophie Turner will portrayed Lara Croft in the ‘Tomb Raider’ series, which will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video.

Deadline reported that, Turner is in talks to adapt the beloved video game series under the direction of Emmy-winning ‘Fleabag’ creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. A representative for Amazon MGM Studios declined to comment.

Amazon MGM President Jennifer Salke announced the series order in May, describing ‘Tomb Raider’ as “epic” and a “world tour.” The project is a passion endeavor for writer and executive producer Waller-Bridge, who spoke warmly about the iconic character during production.

“Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all,” she said in May.

Waller-Bridge is also an executive producer on the series along with Jenny Robins from Wells Street Productions and Dmitri M. Johnson from dj2 Entertainment. Michael Scheel, Legendary Television, and Crystal Dynamics are part of the production team.

‘Tomb Raider’ follows the adventures of British archaeologist Lara Croft. The protagonist of the game, Lara lost her mother in a plane crash in Nepal when she was around 10 years old and miraculously survived. She wants to investigate her parents’ deaths and follow in their footsteps with her discoveries.
