Elon Musk Blocks Pride Posts On X: ‘No ‘Woke’ Content For Kids’

Musk’s decision has sparked a lot of debate.

Elon Musk has blocked Disney’s Pride posts on X, saying ‘woke’ isn’t for kids.

Musk has become a critic of ‘woke’ culture. His choice sparked talks about free speech, business roles, and kids’ shows.

The debate started with Disney’s Pride campaigns for diversity and LGBTQ+ visibility, especially in Pride Month. Disney shares LGBTQ+ content in movies, shows, and parks. Musk seems upset about businesses backing progressive ideas.

Musk’s comment about ‘woke not being for kids’ shows a bigger debate in the U.S. about how topics like race, gender, and sexuality should be shown, especially to kids. While Disney and others focus on diversity, some people feel these companies are more concerned with being politically correct than sticking to traditional values.

The Tesla CEO’s stance has support from some followers on X who worry about ‘wok’ culture affecting children. They believe kids’ entertainment should stay neutral and avoid pushing social or political agendas.

Critics say Disney’s Pride campaigns make LGBTQ+ representation normal and show kids different identities. Disney supports its Pride content and says it promotes inclusion and diversity. They believe showing kids different ideas helps them understand and care for others.

Recently, Disney and other big entertainment companies were back to spending on ads on Musk’s X. This comes a year after Musk told companies leaving his platform to ‘go f*ck yourself.’

Disney, Comcast, Lionsgate, and Warner Bros. Discovery have spent about $3.3 million on X ads this year, according to MediaRadar data shared by The Wrap.

From January to September, Comcast spent almost $1.5 million on X ads. Warner Bros. Discovery spent about $1.1 million, Disney spent under $550,000, and Lionsgate spent nearly $230,000, according to MediaRadar. This is much less than the $170 million they spent on X in 2023.

A Disney spokesperson told The Post they started advertising on X again during the summer. A Warner Bros. Discovery spokesperson said some of its brands are also advertising on X. They denied that this was connected to Trump’s win.
