Colman Domingo recently voiced Norman Osborn for Marvel’s upcoming animated series ‘Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.’ Now, he’s also in talks to take on a potential live-action role within the MCU.
“I have had a meeting with Marvel, yes. But it wasn’t specifically about anything,” Domingo shared in an interview with Screen Geek. “They literally sat down and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. What do you got for me?’ So, we’re having engagement, of course.”
He commented, “Who would not want to be a part of the MCU? I just wouldn’t want it to be right. And something that is created for me and something where I feel like I can give something of myself to. So, we’ll find out what that is. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’m patient.”
Rumors have circulated for about a year that Domingo might replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror after the latter’s relationship scandal and legal trouble.
The actor hinted earlier this year that there might be some truth to these rumors, saying, “My team has had conversations with Marvel about some aspects of the MCU for years. Do I know this to be true or not? I actually don’t know. I feel like my team doesn’t bring me something unless it’s real. So, I don’t know. I could be in conversation, but I’m not sure. I would welcome a conversation around it.”
After cutting ties with Majors due to his conviction on assault and harassment charges, Marvel reintroduced Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom to replace him as the main villain in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies.
Since the studio still didn’t officially conclude the character’s story arc, there’s a chance to see Kang and Doom on screen together. According to some of the popular plot lines from fans, we’ll see the Fantastic Four villain overthrow the Conqueror and take over the Multiverse.
