BAFTA confirmed David Tennant as the host for the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards with a humorous Instagram video that featured the actor himself making the announcement.
The clip started with Tennant standing with his back to the camera. Then, turning around, he said, “Oh hello! Yes. David Tennant here. BACK! Hosting the EE BAFTA Film Awards, one more time.”
“Sunday, the 16th of February,” the ‘Doctor Who’ actor continued, holding a BAFTA award. He added with a funny face, “Tune in, find out who’s gonna win [Makes a funny face].”
A text message from the awards show appeared on screen, reading, “You’re welcome,” followed by Tennant adding, “Oh, yes.”
Fans shared their excitement in the comments, with one writing, “Thank you, Lord. You have answered my prayers.” Most thanked for the decision to bring the ‘Good Omens’ star back as the host and said it was ‘fantastic news.’ A remark even read, “Never been happier.”
David Tennant hosted the 2024 BAFTAs, as well. He’s now set to return for the 78th ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The event will air on the BBC in the U.K. and on Britbox in the U.S. and Australia.
