Willem Dafoe last appeared as Norman Osborn, aka the Green Goblin, in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ joining Tobey Maguire and other co-stars from Sam Raimi’s original trilogy.
At the end of the movie, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker seemingly cured Osborn before Doctor Strange sent him back to his universe, but there’s a chance to see him back in the MCU.
Dafoe teased his potential return in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4’ during a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “We’ll see. We’ll see. [Laughs] I could come back. Tom was great to work with, and the whole series of ‘Spider-Man’ films I did were great fun.”
Details about the cast and plot of ‘Spider-Man 4’ are currently unknown though producer Amy Pascal recently shared that the movie will focus more on Peter Parker’s superhero persona than personal affairs after everyone in his life forgot his identity in ‘No Way Home.’
Holland previously said that the fourth installment’s script had him and his co-star/girlfriend Zendaya “bouncing around the living room.” He later confirmed that filming would start in summer 2025 ahead of the film’s release on July 4, 2026.
The actor starred in the 2021 sequel alongside Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire as well as Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
‘No Way Home’ earned almost $2 billion at the box office.
