According to a post on Star Wars Japan’s official Instagram account, ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian’s Grogu has been featured in an anime-style short series titled ‘Grogu: Cutest in the Galaxy.’ The series introduces “the cutest character in a galaxy far, far away” with a new look inspired by designs and colors that pay homage to Asian pop culture, according to a press release.
‘Grogu: Cutest in the Galaxy,’ is a series of original digital shorts showcasing the charm of ‘The Mandalorian’s “mischievous, witty and lovable” character.
Star Wars Japan will release up to two of these original Grogu shorts each month on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time. The first two shorts, featuring the Mandalorian and a Loth-cat, are currently available to watch online.
Disney will also unveil a ‘Grogu: Cutest in the Galaxy’ merchandise collection at Tokyo Comic Con 2024.
Grogu and the Mandalorian are set to return in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu,’ which will be the first Star Wars feature film since ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019.
New animated ‘Grogu: Cutest in the Galaxy’ shorts are being released monthly on Star Wars Japan’s Instagram. The live-action ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
