Michael Fassbender discussed his role as Magneto in ‘X-Men: First Class’ on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Reflecting on his character, Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto, Fassbender described him as the most psychopathic character he has ever played.

When Kelly Clarkson remarked that Magneto was a cool character to portray, she asked Fassbender what he remembered about the role. He responded:

“Yeah, it’s an amazing character because of the whole idea of the outsider syndrome and his backstory. Absolutely, you can totally understand him. What I always liked about him is that he’s not just a villain. There’s something that gets him to this place, something that brings him here. It’s interesting when you say I’ve played all these insane characters. It’s on my CV: can do insane and creepy. I’ve found a lot of them are creepy too. I think that’s a compliment. So, how do you rank them? Insane from one to five—how do you think? I’d say Magneto is a full five for insanity.”

Magneto, played by Fassbender, is a powerful mutant born with superhuman abilities, belonging to a fictional subspecies of humanity with the power to generate and control magnetic fields.
