Blade technically made his MCU debut on Sunday, but only in a snapshot of an alternate reality. The Disney+ animated series ‘What If…?’ ended this weekend with a montage of previously unseen variations, some of which are set to appear soon. Among them is this version of Blade as Moon Knight, who will feature in the upcoming animated series Marvel Zombies.

‘What If…?’ has surprised fans with unexpected variations of Marvel characters over the past three years. Sunday’s episode concluded the series by showcasing the vast possibilities that still exist, despite it being the series finale. This included a brief glimpse of vampire hunter Blade as Khonshu’s left fist, Moon Knight. This wasn’t merely a throwaway design—Marvel previously teased a similar concept back in October when the studio announced its upcoming release schedule. A clip from Marvel Zombies shows Blade as Moon Knight, donning a white cape and slashing through the undead.

Of the 20+ characters shown in this latest montage, Blade-as-Moon Knight is the only one confirmed to appear in an upcoming MCU production. We’ve also previously seen this version in the Apple Vision Pro VR story ‘What If…?’ An Immersive Story, alongside other unique iterations like a young Hela wielding Mjolnir, The Infinity Witch, and Nova Centurion Carol Danvers. Of course, Marvel could choose to incorporate some—or none—of these concepts into future productions.

Marvel Zombies is a spin-off series of ‘What If…?’ based on a setting introduced in Season 1. Marketed as a miniseries, multiple seasons are not expected. The series draws inspiration from the Marvel Zombies comic book series, which began in 2005. So far, no voice actor has been announced for the role of Blade as Moon Knight.
