A Never-Before-Seen Hero Is Set To Join MCU In 2026, Insiders Say

This character has never been in the Marvel movies before.

Marvel Studios is reportedly gearing up to introduce a new face to its cinematic universe in 2026.

According to a recent tweet by Cosmic Marvel, industry insider Daniel Richtman has provided the scoop that the studio is in the early stages of developing a new superhero franchise. This franchise promises to bring a character to the screen that has yet to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU):

“Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a new superhero franchise for 2026. They will introduce a new character that we haven’t seen in the MCU yet.”

Fan Reactions To The News Were Mixed

While Marvel Studios didn’t comment on the news, the announcement sparked widespread speculation among the fans. Some are convinced that the character in question will be Nova. Others are holding out hope for characters like Ghost Rider or Sleepwalker.

The news has also reignited discussions about the direction of the MCU post-‘Endgame,’ with some fans expressing concerns about the introduction of new characters:

“I’m guessing it’ll be one of the crappy new-gen characters that failed miserably in selling comics, but Marvel will spend $250M+ on producing the film and act shocked when the box office looks awful. The MCU ended with Endgame.”

Others argue that the focus should instead be on developing recent additions such as Shang-Chi and Moon Knight, whose stories have only just begun:

“I’m all for new characters we haven’t seen yet in the MCU, but maybe focus on fleshing out the new characters introduced already? Like Shang-Chi or Moon Knighy?”

Mention of Henry Cahill possibly striking a deal with Marvel Studios led some fans to speculate that he could be portraying the rumored character, with Captain Britain’s name being thrown into the mix as a likely candidate.
