Actor Marc Maron Asks Netflix To End ‘GLOW’ With a Two-Hour Movie

The well-known stand-up comedian, podcaster, writer, and actor Marc Maron, who recently appeared on Netflix show ‘GLOW’ took to Instagram in order to criticize the stream giant decision on canceling the show. He also made a suggestion to end the series in a proper way.

As known, on Monday, it was announced that Netflix reversed the decision regarding that the series was renewed for a fourth and final season; due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whereupon, Maron, portraying ‘Sam Sylvia’ on the show, posted a 30-minute-long video in which he said:

Let us wrap it up in a two-hour Netflix movie. Give the showrunners and the cast and the writers the chance to finish the story in a movie, right? Then it’s all fine. That would take the financial pressure off and the writers could play it out, we could shoot it out.

Maron added that ending the series with a movie would be more economical in these circumstances:

“The thing about shooting a movie is that when you have the whole shooting script you can be economical about your shooting. I think they could do it in less time than it would take to shoot the show.”

Then the actor stated that the showrunners did not want to pay to keep the sets alive anymore; added that they got two offices and soundstages being leased. He ended his words by discussing the show’s cancelation again:

“I was told that they didn’t want to eat the cost of maintaining the sets for another six or seven months to begin production. So that’s what we heard. Honestly, who knows? The protocols they have in place now, I know there are a lot of things being shot, but we have a big cast and crew. Who knows where we’re going to be in January?

As one’s remember, the other day, Alison Brie, the lead actress of ‘GLOW’ also took to Instagram to express her sadness concerning the cancelation. Actress, playing ‘Ruth Wilder’ in the comedy-drama series uploaded a series of photos from the set, with the cast, and added a caption that reads:

Going to miss this… Forever grateful to my GLOW family for changing my life forever. ❤️ #glownetflix”
