‘Sistas’ actress Khaneshia “KJ” Smith talked to People and revealed that she is happy to be back to work, even amid the pandemic.
The ‘BlackAF’ star returned to work at Tyler Perry Studios for the comedy-drama BET series; as might be known, ‘Sistas’ is the first show to resume production amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Regarding the set days, Smith, who represents ‘Andrea “Andi” Barnes’ in the show, first said that she felt quarantined in a safe space at the studio and added:
“I feel protected, and I feel safe. Everybody’s been testing, and we’re all negative. We had a great meeting yesterday where announced that everyone was negative. He does these grand announcements whenever our test results come back. It’s always so exciting because we’re all working together to achieve one goal.”
During the interview, she admitted that had hesitated at first to get back to work, and felt a little bit nervous:
“I already deal with a lot of uncertainty in what I do. But there’s been an escalated level of uncertainty with the pandemic going on because one day a city will say, ‘Everyone stay at home.’ And then the next day, they’re like, ‘Okay, the city is open.’ So I wasn’t really sure what the circumstances were going to be.”
Smith, who expressed her happiness for being back, praised the show and called ‘Sistas’ as a “magnificent project.”
“I’m so happy that we all decided to come and be a part of this magnificent project. It’s history-making, and that’s so exciting. So now that I’m here, I feel great, but there were some uncertainty, of course.”
As for the releasing date of the second season of the series, has not been announced yet.
