Actor Adrianne Palicki, best known for her role as ‘Tyra Collette’ in NBC’s series ‘Friday Night Lights,’ in an interview, expressed that how she was thankful for portraying DC Comics heroine ‘Wonder Women’ in 2011.
Palicki, who has a Supergirl tattoo, told of she fell in love with comic heroines such as ‘Girl of Steel’ and ‘Wonder Woman’ at a very young age cause she had idolized her brother.
“Anything he did, I wanted to do. Of course, I gravitated toward these beautiful, strong women, wanting to be one eventually as this awkward child.”
In 2011, her dreams came true when the lead role of producer David E. Kelley’s ‘Wonder Woman’ pilot. Regarding the pilot produced by Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment for NBC, she said during the interview:
“It was honestly the scariest thing ever and the best thing ever at the time. Getting to wear that outfit was just a huge dream.”
Palicki continued concerning her role in the unaired television pilot:
“It was fun for me to get to play three different characters ultimately. I loved that David E. Kelley is really great at writing really strong woman, and I found he did that beautifully in all of the different personas. What they all still had was this beautiful vulnerability of isolation.”
As fans remember, the pilot directed by Jeffrey Reiner was scheduled to premiere in 2011, however, NBC did not purchase the series.
