Well-known comedian, actor, writer, and director Ricky Gervais goes on taking to his social media accounts with shots that see him in a “lockdown mood.”
At this time, on January 23, the co-creator of the fan-favorite sitcom ‘The Office,’ posted a black and white photo of himself in which he shows off his belly through his verified Instagram account. Alongside the photo, Gervais revealed that he gained weight during the latest lockdown period in the UK. He wrote:
“I’ve put on at least 5lbs during this latest lockdown.”
As widely known, the United Kingdom, where was recorded more than 3.5 million coronavirus infections and more than 95K deaths, announced the third lockdown in the latest days of 2020. After the news spread, a great number of people took to their social media channels to ask the government to ease lockdown restrictions, including well-known singer & songwriter Elton John.
Then Gervais, who currently lives in the UK, admitted that he is not good enough to manage the weight issues by saying:
“I can’t workout enough because I’m lazy and I can’t eat less because I’m greedy.”
However, at the end of the caption, the five-time British Comedy Award-winning comedian criticized the UK government’s restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19, by saying “fu**ing Brexit.”
The post of the ‘After Life’ star came after The British government quietly extended the covid lockdown until July 17. According to the news obtained by the Telegraph, the new regulation will apply to England only.
