It looks like ‘Agatha All Along’ won’t get a season 2.
Fans are wondering if ‘Agatha All Along’ will get a season 2. Marvel and Disney have called it a ‘mini-series’ from the start, planned as a single, nine-episode story. With the last episodes now available, it seems they stuck to that plan.
‘Agatha All Along’ was created mainly because fans loved Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness in ‘WandaVision.’ While a season 2 doesn’t seem likely, Marvel could always change plans. Agatha or another character from the show might even get their own series in the future.
The chance for ‘Agatha All Along’ season 2 seems slim, especially with comments from series creator Jac Schaeffer. She crafted ‘WandaVision’ as a one-season story, and she’s been describing ‘Agatha All Along’ in the same way, as a single, complete story.
“I think a lot of people talk about, in a TV show, [they] can spend so much more time with these characters, but that’s not the thrill for me,” Schaeffer shared with Script Mag.
She continued, “The thrill for me is I can really take the audience’s hand and lead them on a journey that makes them want to come back week to week. It’s also why I haven’t yet made a multi-season show, because I throw everything into that season. I’m like this. These are all my tricks. You get them all in this limited series. Which has been really fun so far.”
‘Agatha All Along’ features an openly gay character played by Joe Locke and hints at a past queer relationship between Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness and Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal in its promos. Last month Hahn talked about these LGBTQ+ themes with Total Film.
She said, “It’s in the bones of the show for sure! I remember there being a ‘WandaVision’ drag brunch and that made us so happy. It’s the greatest tribute we could possibly ever have. So, that was something that was very important to Jac [Schaeffer], Mary [Livanos], and me when we were making this, making sure that element was still involved.”
Marvel’s ‘Vision’ series, expected in 2026, will continue the storyline, following up on ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along.’ Additionally, a potential ‘Scarlet Witch’ movie may bring back Wanda, Vision, Agatha, and even Billy and Tommy in future Marvel projects.
