Amazon Sees ‘Rings Of Power’ Success As Business: ‘It Will Absolutely Continue’

The show has been watched by over 55 million people in season 2, and its future looks bright.

Amazon’s ‘The Rings of Power’ is set to continue, according to Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke.

Salke spoke to Variety about the success of season 2 and confirmed that the series has a 50-episode plan. So far, each season has had eight episodes, so there are 34 more episodes to go. “If you look at the long-term trajectory, which is how this company looks at an asset like that, this is a long-term investment in that franchise,” Salke explained. “So I feel really good. I think we all do.”

Salke said Amazon is committed to continuing the series, but it all depends on how many viewers stay with it. “We’ll continue to make the show as long as we see global customers loving it and watching it to the point where — it is a business,” she admitted. “There are a large amount of people, so there’s no debate about whether or not the show will continue.”

‘The Rings of Power’ season 2 is wrapping up, and over 55 million people have watched the show. This now makes it one of the top five original series on Prime Video. More than 150 million viewers tuned in since the series launched in 2022, and it’s a major reason the show is expected to keep going.

It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but season 3 is expected to be confirmed soon. This would allow the story to continue as planned. The show is based on the events of Middle-earth’s Second Age, and there are still many important moments left to explore.

If the current schedule continues, the series may not be finished until 2032. This could make it harder to keep viewers engaged. Still, Salke seems confident that ‘The Rings of Power’ will move forward. She said that the high number of viewers so far is a good sign for the show’s future.
