Amy Schumer, well-known actor and comedian, fired up her verified Instagram account with a highly emotional post on the birthday of her son, Gene. Instead of talking about her beloved son, Schumer, best known for her stand-ups and comedic roles in fan-favorite features, opened up about her husband, Chris Fischer‘s autism spectrum disorder.
On May 5, Schumer released a two-photo gallery, including a photo of herself with hubby from the delivery room and another of Fischer holding their little baby in his arms, and added a lengthy caption to express that she learned that the disorder is not a devastating thing. She began her message by saying that she woke up “emotional as hell thinking about” her husband, and continued as follows:
“I was having a 3-hour c section he held my hand and stared in my eyes so I never felt alone. I feel loved and supported always. He takes care of our family and is a husband and father beyond my wildest dreams. Also he has autism spectrum disorder. Being tested and diagnosed has helped us communicate and support each other better.”
Then the star, who disclosed in her fan-favorite Netflix documentary called ‘Amy Schumer Growing‘ that her hubby is on the autism spectrum, wants to encourage people to get tested for the disorder “to give themselves the gift of information so people can function to the best of their abilities and remove any stigma that comes with autism.”
Stating that her other documentary ‘Expecting Amy,’ motivated a lot of people to get tested, Schumer added that it is okay for her if Gene will be tested positive for autism.
“Statistically our son most likely will be diagnosed as well and if he’s anything like his father that is wonderful news. So on our babies birthday where he held my hand tight and held me with his eyes I want to say I love you thank you and happy birthday little geenie panini we love you as much as you love school busses. “
Following the comedian released the post, a great number of users of the photo-sharing platform jumped into the comments section to show their support for Schumer. Here are some of the messages received from well-known names:
“Love this and love you” wrote, her comedian fellow Chelsea Handler.
“This is beautiful, love you Amy, happy birthday little dude!” added, the well-known singer and songwriter Demi Lovato.
“Love this post so, so, so, so much. What a beautiful partnership and connection you all have” commented, ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ star Jessica Capshaw.
