Actress and comedian Amy Schumer posted a lengthy statement to her Instagram after the L.A. Times published a report titled “Actor Bryan Callen accused of sexual assault, misconduct.”
As might be remembered, Callen had been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, throughout the years, however, he had denied all the accusations, by writing the followings on Twitter:
“Let me be very clear: I have never raped, forced myself upon any woman nor offered to trade stage time for sex. EVER. The horrific and false allegations originated in today’s LA Times will be addressed in detail in a special Saturday night edition of my podcast TFATK tomorrow. I will not allow the cancel culture to subvert what I know and as importantly, what these women know, is the truth.”
However, Schumer took to social media; shared a screenshot of L.A. Times’ report headline and wrote:
“The @latimes just published this article by @amykinla about the repeat offenses of Bryan Callen.”
Then, the 39-year-old actress continued by showing her support to “brave women” who had opened up about their stories:
“Thank you to the brave women coming forward and sharing their stories. You are saving the women who may have come after you.”
The ‘Trainwreck’ star concluded her message sarcastically:
“And to the comics who are annoyed with me for standing with these ladies what are you so afraid of? Available on my number in my bio if anyone wants to talk about Bryan or anyone else who has sexually assaulted you. @bryancallen have a nice day.”
