‘Andor’ Ends With Season 2: Disney Confirms A Tight Two-Season Arc Leading Up To ‘Rogue One’

Andor season 2 will air on April 22nd.

Disney+ mobile app recently updated with ‘Andor’ advertising, and at the bottom of the poster it now reads “Season 2 Coming April 22.” ‘Andor’ season 2 will premiere on April 22, right after Star Wars Celebration, the biggest Star Wars event of the year, which will take place from April 18 to April 20, 2025. This will also be ‘Andor’s final season.

One of ‘Andor’s season 2 directors Alonso Ruizpalacios, revealed in a conversation with The Playlist that Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera will also appear in the season.

‘Andor’ star Diego Luna hasn’t revealed many details about the season, but he celebrated wrapping the season with a tribute to the cast and crew. Luna wrote, “Today is the last day of filming Andor. I could not be more thankful to the entire crew for this amazing experience and the years of hard work. More than 700 people have worked on this production, and it is impossible to say goodbye and thank you to everyone individually, which is why I write here. THANK YOU for the love and the wonderful experience.”

In a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, veteran actor Stellan Skarsgård had commented on his role in the Disney+ series ‘Andor,’ describing it as “Star Wars for grownups.”

Skarsgård discussed the series’ mature themes, character depth, and its reflection on societal structures. According to the actor, the series explored the oppressive and fascist nature of its setting. This complexity, Skarsgård suggested, appeals to an adult audience: “First of all, it was very well written. It was Tony Gilroy who wrote it. It’s like ‘Star Wars’ for grownups. It’s a very oppressive society, it’s a fascist society and you feel the presence of it. The characters are very well drawn.”
