Andrew Garfield Admits He Can 100% Play Spider-Man Again

He still loves the character and wants to bring something new to the role.

Andrew Garfield recently shared that he would be open to playing Spider-Man again in future Marvel movies.

Esquire recently asked Garfield about playing Spider-Man again, and the actor said he would return if the project was meaningful. “For sure, I would 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and
odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into,” he said. He added that playing Spider-Man brings him a lot of joy, and he loves being a part of it.

Garfield’s first two movies as Spider-Man were ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ The second film didn’t perform as expected, and Sony decided not to continue with a third movie. This left Garfield feeling like he was ‘left dangling.’ He told Esquire that it was a tough moment for him, but it also helped him heal.

Garfield got the chance to suit up as Spider-Man for the third time in 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ He teamed up with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland in this movie

Garfield even shared a fun moment about sneaking into a theater with Maguire to watch the audience’s reaction to ‘No Way Home’ on opening night. “Me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there,” he recalled. “It was just a really beautiful thing to share together. And to find a brotherhood with Tobey as well, and with Tom, and the fact that we do share a very unique experience.”
