Highly-expected computer-animated fantasy, ‘SOUL‘ arrived on Disney+ on December 25, and received positive reviews from critics and viewers on its first day of release.
The film, directed by Pete Docter and produced by Pixar Animation Studios was first announced by Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx, who is voicing a jazz pianist and music teacher ‘Joe Gardner‘ in the movie, with an Instagram post which reads:
“SOUL cannot wait for all of you to see the incredible film!!! On Christmas day on Disney+, you and your family will enjoy this movie I guarantee. Merry Christmas happy holidays.”
As Foxx predicted, a great number of Disney+ users enjoyed the movie, according to their reviews & praises. On Rotten Tomatoes ‘SOUL’ garnered a 93% audience score. To celebrate the news, Foxx took to Instagram one more time, released a screenshot announcing the score, and wrote:
“People are loving this film make sure you check it out on Disney+ with your family! SOUL will move your soul!“
Following the post, Foxx’s famous fellows took to the comment section with the following messages:
“Congrats, brother, and way to take care of people during this time with that mana. The soul 👊🏾🥃” wrote, Dwayne Johnson.
“Congrats it was deep and amazing the family loved it⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️” added, Swizz Beatz.
“Family going to watch it tonight 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥” commented, Lethal Shooter.
What’s more, the animated movie, starring Tina Fey (as ’22’), Questlove (as ‘Curley’), Phylicia Rashad (as ‘Libba Gardner’), and Daveed Diggs (as ‘Paul’) received two Florida Film Critics Circle Awards, including Best Score and Best Animated Film in addition to a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Music.
