Anson Mount Responds To ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Casting Rumors

He denied the claims and criticized the rumor-spreading account online.

Anson Mount recently responded to rumors about his return in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ movie.

Over the weekend, a fan account on social media claimed that the ‘Inhumans’ cast, including Mount, will appear in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Mount took to social media to set the record straight. He responded sarcastically:

“This is so interesting. Please tell us more about this contract I apparently signed in my sleep. I’m so curious to hear all the juicy details from a feed that is clearly not a click-farm.”

You can see his tweet below.

He Raised Hopes Last Year

Mount’s role as Black Bolt was a surprise in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ Fans saw him in a comic-accurate costume and showing off his powerful voice that reduced Earth-838’s Doctor Strange to dust. His character met a quick end after a confrontation with Scarlet Witch.

Mount did mention last year that there were some informal talks with Marvel about his return. However, he added that nothing was set in stone:

“If the answer was yes I wouldn’t be able to tell you, but the answer is no, so I can. I’ve had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel and it’s a conversation, but they’ve got their current phase that they need to do. I don’t know, we’ll see. I would love to jump back into the cowl and do it again. I love Black Bolt as a character.”

The ‘Inhumans’ TV series was canceled after only eight episodes, and there are no current plans for an ‘Inhumans’ movie. The door is not entirely closed, though.

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to be released in 2027. Mount isn’t expected to return, but anything is possible as the film’s release is still a few years away. Marvel movies often have surprises.
