Kathryn Newton says ‘Ant-Man’ was the easiest job she’s ever had.
Newton compared her work on ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ to her role in the new horror movie ‘Abigail’ while speaking to Cinemapop. She said she had to use her imagination a lot in ‘Ant-Man’ because many scenes were filmed with a green screen, but with ‘Abigail,’ it was quite different:
“[‘Abigail’] was, physically, actually harder than ‘Ant-Man.’ ‘Ant-Man’ was the easiest job of my life. It was really fun… And this one was just as fun, but it was different. We had a real set, we had real props, real people. So whatever inspiration you get is from what’s happening right in front of you and I didn’t have to make it up, there was no green screen. And that was much more freeing than I was prepared for.”
Newton Is Hopeful About Marvel Future
Newton says she is excited about the possibility of Cassie Lang joining the Young Avengers. She grew up watching Marvel movies and loves the idea of her character growing along with her fans:
“My whole thing is that I grew up watching ‘Iron Man,’ and I feel like I grew with that character. So my hope for Cassie Lang has always been to grow with my audience, be it the people who are my age and saw [‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’], or the people who are just starting to watch Marvel movies at a young age.”
‘Abigail’ tells the story of a group of criminals who kidnap a young girl. They are locked in a mansion with her and soon find out that she is no ordinary girl. You can watch the trailer for ‘Abigail’ below.
