Anthony Mackie talked about the upcoming ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ in a recent chat on ‘The Official Marvel Podcast.’ He also took a shot at Tom Holland, who teased him about there being no Falcon movie at an event years ago.
“Well, he’s Cap. Finally,” the actor said, laughing. “Now we see him running missions on his own and trying to figure out where he fits into the whole world. This is way better than any of Tom Holland’s movies. And, I have Harrison Ford!”
Harrison Ford joined Mackie in the cast as President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, aka Red Hulk. Marvel revealed Ford’s involvement in the film, replacing late William Hurt, during the San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
“This is a character that’s based on a lot of history, developed with Bill who played the character previously, but now I am Thaddeus and I am delighted and proud to become a member of the Marvel Universe,” he shared with the crowd at the event.
“I’ve been watching fantastic actors — some of which are here tonight — have a really good time working in the Marvel universe, and I wanted a piece of the action. I’m very proud to be in this film. I think it has turned out to be fantastic.”
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will premiere on February 14, 2025.
