Anthony Mackie claims ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will start things fresh for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Mackie told Entertainment Weekly that this movie will change the way we think about the whole superhero world. He says it’s kind of like what happened with ‘The Winter Soldier’:
“This movie is a clear reset. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be. I think with these movies, you’re getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.'”
There Are Big Changes As Well
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will introduce a much bigger enemy. This isn’t just another battle of good guys versus bad guys. Instead, the characters will face new challenges that will change what we expect from superhero movies:
“The title implies that there’s a new, bigger enemy now; there’s a new frontier that we have to conquer. From ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ to ‘Endgame,’ the enemy was always good versus bad. Now that we’ve conquered that, where do we go from here? When the bad guys reappear, in what form are they reappearing? It is a new storyline with new characters, with new beliefs, and it creates a new idea of this new world that we’re going into.”
The movie will also focus on heroes who don’t use magic or have powers from outer space. They will have their own challenges to face. Speaking of new, Harrison Ford will play a major role in the film as President Thaddeus Ross.
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ builds on stories from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ ‘She-Hulk,’ and ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.’
