Antonio Banderas Reveals On His 60th Birthday That He Has Coronavirus

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, the recipient of numerous accolades including Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe, announced on 10 August, his 60th birthday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Hollywood actor shared a statement on social media, along with one of his own baby photos:

“Hello everyone, I want to make public that today, August 10, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday following quarantine, having tested positive with Covid-19 disease.”

The Academy Award-winning actor, who was in the middle of filming the comedy ‘Official Competition’ with Penélope Cruz, added:

“I would like to add that I am relatively okay, just a little more tired than usual and confident that I will recover as soon as possible following the medical indications, which I hope will allow me to overcome the infection that is affecting people around the planet.”

Banderas concluded his words as follows:

I will take advantage of this isolation to read, write and rest, and continue making plans to begin to give meaning to my newly released 60 years, to which I arrive loaded with desire and hope. A big hug to everyone.”
