Anya Taylor-Joy implies AI was used to get fans used to the characters’ new looks for ‘Furiosa.’
‘Furiosa’ used AI to blend Anya Taylor-Joy’s facial features with Alyla Browne’s. This technology helped make the transition between the two actresses more seamless. 35% of Taylor-Joy’s likeness was added to Browne, and by the end, it increased to almost 80%.
Anya Taylor-Joy explained this process during an appearance on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ She said that George Miller had the idea early on to use AI to help the audience smoothly adjust to the new Furiosa:
“George Miller had the idea very early on. The audience was already getting used to a new Furiosa [Charlize Theron in ‘Fury Road’]. He wanted the transition from both actors [Browne and Taylor-Joy] playing her to be seamless. And so I did two days of the craziest things you could ever possibly imagine. And they mixed our faces together.”

‘Furiosa’ is a Prequel to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’
‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ recently hit theaters. Anya Taylor-Joy stars in the film as a younger Imperator Furiosa, who was originally played by Charlize Theron.
The story goes back to Furiosa’s childhood in Green Place and shows her journey to Immortan Joe’s Citadel. Alyla Browne plays a much younger version of Furiosa. Furiosa gets kidnapped by a biker gang led by Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus at one point, and the story follows their conflict over the years.
‘Furiosa’ had a slow start at the box office, and not all fans liked this use of AI. Some were so upset about it that they hoped it ‘doesn’t make a dime in profit.’
