Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth answered the web’s most searched questions about them with WIRED in promotion for the upcoming ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.’ One of the questions asked who Taylor-Joy played in ‘Peaky Blinders.’ She revealed:
“In ‘Peaky Blinders,’ I am a real piece of work named Gina Gray, and I get very weirdly embarrassed when people tell me that they really like me in ‘Peaky Blinders’ because she’s awful.”
The actress noted:
“I struggle watching me as Gina. So, when people are like, ‘Oh, you’re great in that show.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, God, you’ve seen me be terrible to people.’”
The Actress May Reprise Her Role In A New Film
Taylor-Joy previously said that working on ‘Peaky Blinders’ was ‘so much fun’ despite her dislike for Gina Gray. Her run as the character ended with the show in Season 6, but rumors say she’ll return in an upcoming film.
The newly-announced movie’s official cast and plot details are still under wraps, but writer Steven Knight confirms Cillian Murphy’s return as Thomas Shelby:
“I think the film is gonna be a step up again, and it’s gonna be great that ‘Peaky’ fans can meet in one place and watch it. The budget will be bigger, but also because we know we’re ending this chapter, we’re all going to try to do our best. Cillian [Murphy] is really up for it. So I can’t wait for it to start shooting.”
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ film’s production will start this September. Meanwhile, Taylor-Joy will star in ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ in theaters on May 24.
