Armie Hammer On Robert Downey Jr. Paying For His Rehab

The actor received treatment for drug, alcohol, and sex issues a few years ago.

Reports claimed that Robert Downey Jr. paid for Armie Hammer’s rehab expenses in 2021. Hammer cleared up the rumors in a new interview with Piers Morgan:

“He did not pay for me to go to rehab. I don’t want to bring anyone else into my situation. There are a number of people who have been extremely helpful, and I’m incredibly grateful.”

He noted:

“[Downey was helpful] in the way where [when] anyone in Hollywood who suffers from any sort of addiction issues — whether it be alcohol or process addiction or drugs — decides to get sober, that guy will find you, and he will help you.”

The Best Advice From Downey

Robert Downey Jr. also battled drug addiction in the ’90s and repeatedly visited rehab. He got sober in 2003 and often credited his wife, Susan, as a major support during his recovery.

Hammer shared the most useful advice Downey gave him for his healing process:

“Sit down, shut up, everything is going to be okay.”

The Accusations Directed At The Actor

Sources claimed that Armie Hammer checked into a facility in Florida for treatment in May 2021 after facing sexual assault accusations from an ex, Effie Angelova. The actor denied the allegations since then and told Morgan during the recent chat:

“This was a very intense affair, very sexually charged, between two people with very similar proclivities and kinks.”

He also rejected the cannibalism accusations by saying:

“You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to have actually eaten someone.”
