In a recent chat with Screen Rant at The Saturn Awards on February 4, Chyler Leigh told Milly Alcock to prepare for her role in DC’s ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow.’ Referring to the fan expectations, the Arroweverse star commented:
“It’s a big role, so know your s**t. Do your research, and just have fun. Everyone’s interpretation is going to be different, and you can’t listen to absolutely everybody out there. Just play it with as much heart and soul as you’ve got, and do your best.”
Milly Alcock’s Casting In The DCU
‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ is one of the many upcoming projects in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s take on the DC Universe. Making a splash as Rhaenyra Targaryen in the ‘House Of The Dragon’ series, Alcock is the only actor confirmed for the film so far.
In a Thread post about the actress’ casting, the co-CEO of the DC Studios shared last week:
“In case you missed this exciting news yesterday. Strangely, Milly was the first person I brought up to Peter [Safran] for this role well over a year ago when I had only read the comics. I was watching ‘House of the Dragon’ & thought she might have the edge, grace & authenticity we needed for the DCU’s Supergirl. And now here we are. Life is wild sometimes.”
What We Know About Her Future Projects
While this film is set to be the third take on the Supergirl story in the last decade, Alcock’s version might make her debut earlier than its release. Although it’s not guaranteed yet, the actress is hinted at appearing in ‘Superman: Legacy.’
The Superman origin story, featuring David Corenswet, is expected to be released on July 11, 2025. Meanwhile, there’s no word yet on when ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ will hit the screens.
